About Rylstone Oak
Rylstone in plank form is a toasted caramel oak with strong cathedral grain. Wide arches and long straight lines run down each board, giving it more visible figure than a plain oak. In a room the colour reads as a warm mid-brown with a slight taupe edge, darker than honey oak but still warm. The matt finish lets the grain show without shine.
It suits relaxed modern rooms with grey sofas, wool rugs, oak coffee tables and warm white walls. Deep greens, rust and ochre cushions bring out its warmth. In kitchens it pairs with cream, sage or navy cabinets, and it works equally well in hallways and bathrooms.
At 185 x 1229mm the planks are long and broad, so the floor feels calm and spacious, with few joints to interrupt the grain. The same colour also comes in Herringbone, so you can carry the tone into a hallway or dining room with a more traditional pattern.
It is 100% waterproof and glued to a smooth, prepared subfloor. The 0.7mm wear layer is designed for the busiest homes and light commercial spaces.

Frequently asked questions about Rylstone Oak
How many packs of Rylstone Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.27 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.27 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Rylstone Oak waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Rylstone Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Is 0.7mm worth it over 0.55mm?
If the floor takes heavy daily traffic, such as a hallway straight off the front door, a busy kitchen, large dogs or a shop, yes. For most other rooms 0.55mm is plenty.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
