About Ilkley Ash
Pale biscuit and sandy blond up close, Ilkley takes on a soft greige cast once it covers a room. The grain shows gentle cathedral arches and fine straight lines, low in contrast and free of big knots. Plank-to-plank variation is light, so the overall look is even, quiet and restful. A matt finish keeps it natural and understated.
It is a good partner for pale, layered schemes: grey or oatmeal sofas, wool rugs, warm white walls, light oak furniture and woven baskets. In kitchens it suits white, putty or sage units, and it is a sound choice for bathrooms and hallways too.
The 185 x 1229mm planks are long and wide, so there are fewer joints and the floor runs cleanly from wall to wall. This makes rooms feel bigger and works well across open-plan living. The same colour also comes in Herringbone, so a hallway or dining area can take the pattern while the main room stays in plank.

How is it fitted?
It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Is 0.7mm worth it over 0.55mm?
If the floor takes heavy daily traffic, such as a hallway straight off the front door, a busy kitchen, large dogs or a shop, yes. For most other rooms 0.55mm is plenty.
