About Appletreewick Chestnut
A deep toffee-to-tobacco brown, Appletreewick has the warmth of an old chestnut floor. Broad cathedral arches run along each board, crossed by pale scratch-like flecks that give the surface a worn, characterful look. In a room the colour reads darker and slightly cooler, a settled mid-to-deep brown with gentle variation between planks. The finish looks matt, so it feels relaxed rather than polished.
It sits beautifully with rustic and modern country interiors: reclaimed wood tables, linen sofas in stone or grey, terracotta pots and plain white walls. In a kitchen it suits cream, sage or deep green units with brass handles, and it is equally fine in hallways and bathrooms.
The 185 x 1229mm planks are long and generously wide. Fewer joints mean a calmer floor, and the long lines draw the eye through the room so spaces feel larger. The same colour also comes in Herringbone, so a hallway or dining area can carry the pattern while the main rooms run in plank.
It is 100% waterproof, glued to a smooth, prepared subfloor, and suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Is 0.7mm worth it over 0.55mm?
If the floor takes heavy daily traffic, such as a hallway straight off the front door, a busy kitchen, large dogs or a shop, yes. For most other rooms 0.55mm is plenty.
