About Semerwater Birch Herringbone
Very pale, almost ivory, Semerwater has a whisper of grey that keeps it cool rather than yellow. The grain is fine and delicate, with soft arches and straight lines that only show when you look closely. There are no obvious knots and very little change from plank to plank. The matt surface gives it a light, bleached look, so the room feels bright and open.
It is a natural fit for Scandinavian and minimal interiors: grey sofas, oak tables, linen throws, large fiddle-leaf figs and white or putty walls. In a kitchen it brightens dark navy or charcoal cabinets, and it is a clean, calm choice for a bathroom or hallway.
At 115 x 460mm the planks form a small, closely woven herringbone. The pattern brings detail to a pale floor without adding visual weight, and it suits period homes and smaller rooms well. The same colour also comes in Plank, for rooms where you want long, quiet boards instead.
It is 100% waterproof and has a 0.7mm wear layer, the choice for the busiest homes and light commercial spaces.

Frequently asked questions about Semerwater Birch Herringbone
How many packs of Semerwater Birch Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 1.48 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.48 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 12 packs.
Is Semerwater Birch Herringbone waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Semerwater Birch Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Herringbone or chevron: what is the difference?
Herringbone planks are cut square and laid in a staggered zigzag. Chevron planks are cut at an angle, so the ends meet in a clean, continuous point.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
