About Wettenhall Oak

Natural oak at its most honest, Wettenhall Oak has a light honey-beige tone with a slightly muted, toasted warmth. The grain is lively, with tight swirls and long ripples, and dark filled knots are dotted across the boards along with fine splits. Some planks lean paler, others a little deeper, giving a gentle variation that feels natural rather than patchy. Light brushing adds a faint texture, and the lacquer gives a soft, practical sheen.

It is a versatile floor for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and long hallways, and kitchens with sensible care. White and warm grey walls, grey or cream sofas, oak and walnut furniture, and natural textures like jute and linen all suit it.

Wide 190 x 1900mm planks give a calm, open look with fewer joins. The same colour also comes in GF Herringbone, so you can run planks through living areas and switch to herringbone where you want more pattern, keeping one colour throughout.

A 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base means it can be sanded and refinished in years to come. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Wettenhall Oak

How many packs of Wettenhall Oak do I need?

Each pack covers 2.888 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.888 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 6 packs.

Is Wettenhall Oak waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Wettenhall Oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or floating, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
