About Wettenhall Oak Herringbone

Wettenhall is a natural, sandy mid-brown oak with a warm but restrained tone. Fine straight grain runs along most planks, with occasional soft arches, and the Rustic grade adds small dark knots spread evenly across the floor. Planks vary slightly from light sand to a deeper brown. The lacquer gives a soft, low sheen.

It suits kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and works in a kitchen with sensible care. Warm white, cream and soft grey walls suit it, with linen, mid-century timber, rattan and matt black or brass fittings.

The 90 x 360mm planks make a compact, traditional herringbone. The same colour also comes in the GF Plank format, so you can use herringbone in a living room and planks through a hallway or kitchen, keeping the colour flowing between rooms.

It has a 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Wettenhall Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Wettenhall Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 1.296 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.296 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 14 packs.

Is Wettenhall Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Wettenhall Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
