About Bollington Oak
Bollington has the look of old, reclaimed boards. The colour is a warm tobacco and toffee brown, and the surface is full of character: long, dark-filled cracks, black-filled knots and faint saw-mark texture across the planks. The grain is strong and flowing beneath it all. The brushed lacquered surface has a low sheen, so the distressed details stay the focus.
It suits farmhouse kitchens with sensible care, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways, and is a natural fit for barn conversions and cottages. Pair it with white, cream or stone walls, exposed brick, iron and brass fittings, leather and dark green or ochre textiles.
The 220 x 2200mm planks are extra wide and long. In a big room they look generous and calm, with few joints, and they show the cracks and knots at their best.
It has a 4mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Bollington Oak
How many packs of Bollington Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.9 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.9 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 6 packs.
Is Bollington Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Bollington Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
