About Keswick Chestnut Herringbone

Warm mid-brown with a gentle rosy undertone, Keswick has more character than most floors in this range. Bold cathedral arches swing through the grain, and there are darker knots and small splits scattered along the planks. Some pieces are lighter and sandier, others deeper, which gives the herringbone a lived-in, natural variation. The finish looks matt, and across a room the colour settles into a soft taupe-brown.

It is a lovely backdrop for a dining room with olive or mustard velvet chairs, a round oak table, terracotta accents and abstract prints. Fluted oak sideboards, cream walls and warm lighting all sit well with it. Kitchens, hallways and bathrooms are fine too, as it is completely waterproof.

The planks are 150 x 750mm, so the herringbone is large and confident. Fewer joints and longer runs make the pattern bolder, which works in generous rooms and open-plan spaces where small parquet could look busy.

It is glued to a smooth, prepared subfloor, and the 0.7mm wear layer suits the busiest homes and light commercial spaces.

Frequently asked questions about Keswick Chestnut Herringbone

How many packs of Keswick Chestnut Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 3.62 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 3.62 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 5 packs.

Is Keswick Chestnut Herringbone waterproof?

Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.

Can Keswick Chestnut Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Herringbone or chevron: what is the difference?

Herringbone planks are cut square and laid in a staggered zigzag. Chevron planks are cut at an angle, so the ends meet in a clean, continuous point.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
