About Buttermere Oak
Deep cocoa oak with a hint of red-brown gives these wide planks a rich, enveloping warmth. The grain is soft and long, with darker bands and faint cathedral figuring, and only small, quiet knots. Tone varies gently along and between boards, from mocha to dark chocolate, so the floor has depth without looking busy. The finish is matt, which keeps the dark colour soft rather than shiny.
It suits characterful living rooms with dusky pink or plaster walls, ornate mirrors, ochre armchairs and plum throws. It also works with white or cream kitchens, brass, and dark joinery in a snug or study.
Wide 228.6 x 1219.2mm planks make a room feel bigger and calmer, and they let the grain run unbroken. The same colour also comes in basketweave and herringbone, so you can add pattern to a hallway or kitchen while keeping wide boards in the living room.
It is 100% waterproof and suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.
