About Bexton Oak

Bexton is a light, natural oak with a rustic, random look. The colour is a soft biscuit with some paler and some warmer planks, and the grain swirls around a good number of knots, small splits and character marks. The smooth oiled finish is matt and natural, so it reads like real, honest timber.

It suits kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and works in kitchens with sensible care. It looks good with white or chalky walls, light timber furniture, linen and natural textures. It suits cottages, barn conversions and modern homes that want a relaxed, lived-in feel.

The planks are 125mm wide in mixed lengths of 300–1500mm. The varied lengths create an informal, random pattern of joints, like an old floor that has been laid by hand, while the narrower width suits smaller rooms and period homes.

There is a 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so the surface can be sanded and re-oiled. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Bexton Oak

How many packs of Bexton Oak do I need?

Each pack covers 2.64 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.64 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 7 packs.

Is Bexton Oak waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Bexton Oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or floating, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
