About Acton Oak
Acton is a soft greige oak, a cool mixture of taupe and grey-brown with a slightly pink undertone. The grain is strong and swirling, picked out in lighter tones, and the Rustic grade adds small dark knots and some grey-filled knots. Plank-to-plank variation is gentle, so the floor feels calm despite its character. The brushed lacquered surface has a soft, low sheen.
It suits modern living rooms, bedrooms, studies and hallways, and kitchen-diners with sensible care. Pair it with white or soft grey walls, grey and charcoal fabrics, pale timber and black metal. It is a good choice if you want a floor that leans cool without looking cold.
At 150 x 1900mm, the planks are long and of a classic width, so the floor runs in clean lines with few joints. That gives a room a calm, spacious feel.
There is a 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Acton Oak
How many packs of Acton Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.28 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.28 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Acton Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Acton Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
