About Bostock Oak Herringbone

Stained to a rich coffee and tobacco brown, Bostock has a properly rustic character. Dark knots, cathedral arches and swirling grain run through the planks, and the colour varies from lighter honey-brown to deeper brown, so every part of the floor looks different. Light brushing adds a little texture, and the lacquer gives a soft, low sheen. The feel is warm, heritage and full of character.

It is ideal for period homes and country interiors, with cream or deep green walls, leather or linen sofas, antique furniture and brass. It suits kitchens with sensible care, as well as living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways.

The 90 x 360mm planks give a traditional herringbone with a slightly longer stride than classic small parquet. The same colour also comes as a GF Plank, so you can run boards through the main rooms and keep herringbone for a hallway or dining room.

Its 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base can be sanded and refinished in future. It is Rustic grade, glued down, and suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Bostock Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Bostock Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 1.296 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.296 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 14 packs.

Is Bostock Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Bostock Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
