About Embsay Walnut
Embsay is a deep espresso walnut with a cool, chocolatey undertone. A fine, dense grain runs down each board, opening into flame figure through the centre of some planks. Tone stays fairly consistent, so the floor looks rich rather than busy, and there are no large knots. The matt finish keeps the dark colour soft and modern rather than glossy.
A dark floor like this makes white walls look crisp and lets lighter furniture stand out. Grey sofas, jute rugs, oak tables, wicker baskets and big green plants all look good against it. In a kitchen it suits white, cream or pale stone units, and it is just as at home in a bathroom or hallway.
With long, wide 185 x 1229mm planks, the floor reads as a smooth, continuous surface with few joints, which helps rooms feel larger and calmer. The same colour also comes in Herringbone, so you can add a parquet pattern in a hallway or dining room and keep the walnut tone throughout.
It is 100% waterproof and glued to a smooth, prepared subfloor, with a 0.7mm wear layer for the busiest homes.

Each pack covers 2.27 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.27 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Embsay Walnut waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Embsay Walnut go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Is 0.7mm worth it over 0.55mm?
If the floor takes heavy daily traffic, such as a hallway straight off the front door, a busy kitchen, large dogs or a shop, yes. For most other rooms 0.55mm is plenty.
What guarantee does it have?
