About Countersett Larch
Light and sandy, Countersett has the gentle oatmeal-gold colour of larch. Its grain is mostly straight, with soft flame figure appearing in the centre of some boards, and there are very few knots. Long runs of plank show subtle changes of tone, enough to feel natural without looking patchy. The finish is matt, and the result is quiet, airy and easy to furnish.
It suits modern and Scandinavian rooms with white walls, grey sofas, cream rugs and oak or ash furniture. In kitchens it pairs with white, pale grey or soft green units, and it is a practical choice for hallways, home offices and bathrooms.
The 185 x 1229mm planks are long and wide, which keeps joints to a minimum and lets the floor run calmly through open-plan spaces. Rooms tend to feel larger and lighter with boards this size. The same colour also comes in Herringbone, so you can bring a pattern into a hallway or snug while keeping one tone throughout.
It is 100% waterproof and suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?
It is glued to a smooth, level, dry subfloor, usually after a smoothing compound at least 3mm thick, then rolled. There is no underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Is 0.7mm worth it over 0.55mm?
If the floor takes heavy daily traffic, such as a hallway straight off the front door, a busy kitchen, large dogs or a shop, yes. For most other rooms 0.55mm is plenty.
