About Honister Slate
Dark, moody and textured, Honister Slate captures the blue-grey charcoal of riven slate. Each tile carries cloudy patches of lighter and darker grey, with fine pale veins and a layered, split-stone texture across the surface. Tone varies gently from tile to tile, so the floor has depth without looking patchy. It looks matt and natural, with the solid, honest feel of a traditional stone floor in a country house.
It grounds bathrooms with sage, putty or cream vanities, brass taps and pale tiled walls. It also suits kitchens with white, olive or grey units, as well as boot rooms and hallways where a darker floor is practical.
The 304.8 x 609.6mm rectangular tiles give a traditional stone-floor look. A brick-bond layout feels classic, while a straight grid looks more contemporary. Either way, the darker tone makes a large room feel anchored and cosy.
It is 100% waterproof and glued to a smooth, prepared subfloor, and the 0.55mm wear layer suits busy family homes.
