About Whitegate Oak
Each plank of Whitegate Oak looks a little different. Its grain swirls in loose ovals on some boards and runs straight with silvery ray flecks on others, all in a pale honey tone with a faint peachy warmth. Knots are small and scattered, with the odd cluster of pin knots, and the colour moves softly from light straw to warmer gold. Brushing gives it a light texture and the oiled finish keeps it matt and natural.
It suits cottages, terraced houses and relaxed modern homes. Use it in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, and in kitchens with sensible care. Pair it with white or soft sage walls, linen, cane, light oak furniture and simple ceramics.
Mixed lengths in 125 x 300–1200mm planks give a busy, staggered pattern that feels traditional and charming, and the narrower width suits hallways, smaller rooms and period properties.
A 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base means the floor can be sanded and refinished in years to come. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Whitegate Oak
How many packs of Whitegate Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 1.44 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 1.44 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 12 packs.
Is Whitegate Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Whitegate Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
