About Huxley Oak
Pale, creamy oak with a generous scattering of knots gives Huxley Oak its relaxed, natural character. Small dark pin knots and larger open knots appear on most boards, some with fine splits, while the grain swirls in loose ovals between them. The base colour is a soft beige with a faint pinkish warmth, varying a little from plank to plank. An oiled finish keeps it matt and close to the look of untreated timber, so the floor feels light, honest and unfussy.
It is a natural fit for Scandinavian and Japandi-style homes, and works in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, as well as country kitchens with sensible care. Pair it with white or warm grey walls, pale linen, light oak or ash furniture and black accents for contrast.
Wide 190 x 1900mm planks let the knotty grain spread out across the floor, so the overall effect is calm and spacious rather than busy.
Its 3mm real oak top layer sits on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished later. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Huxley Oak
How many packs of Huxley Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 3.61 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 3.61 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 5 packs.
Is Huxley Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Huxley Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or floating, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
