About Goostrey Oak
Deep and warm, Goostrey Oak is a rich chestnut brown with hints of copper and toffee. The colour sinks into the brushed grain, picking out the arches and fine lines so the pattern of the oak shows clearly through the tone. Small dark knots are scattered across the boards, and there is a gentle shift between lighter amber planks and deeper cognac ones. The oiled finish keeps a soft, low sheen rather than a gloss, so the floor looks rich but not polished.
This is a cosy, traditional floor for living rooms, dining rooms, studies, bedrooms and hallways, and kitchens with sensible care. It sits well with cream and warm white walls, deep green or burgundy paint, tan leather, brass lamps and wool throws, and it suits period homes as well as a warm modern scheme.
In 125 x 300–1200mm planks of mixed lengths, it lays down in a busy, staggered pattern with lots of short joints, the look of a classic strip floor that suits hallways, smaller rooms and older houses.
There is a 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so the floor can be sanded and refinished in years to come. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Goostrey Oak
How many packs of Goostrey Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 1.8 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 1.8 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.
Is Goostrey Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Goostrey Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
