About Brereton Oak
Brereton is a warm amber oak with a ginger-honey glow. The grain is strong and flowing, with sweeping cathedral arches and fine ray flecks, and the colour is fairly consistent across the planks. The Rustic grade shows in small knots and a few fine marks rather than heavy character. The brushed lacquered surface has a soft satin sheen.
It suits living rooms, dining rooms, studies and hallways, and kitchen-diners with sensible care. Pair it with cream, warm white or soft green walls, grey or rust fabrics, brass lighting and warm timber furniture. It suits Victorian and Edwardian homes as well as modern ones.
At 190 x 1900mm, the planks are wide and long, giving the floor a generous, calm look with few joints. That suits bigger rooms and open-plan spaces.
This 20mm floor has a 6mm real oak top layer, so there is plenty of oak to sand and refinish over the years. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Brereton Oak
How many packs of Brereton Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 1.805 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 1.805 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.
Is Brereton Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Brereton Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
