About Handbridge Oak Herringbone
Handbridge has the look of raw, untreated oak: pale, creamy and soft, with a light almond tone and a slight pink warmth. The grain is gentle, with relaxed arches and straight lines, and knots are barely there. Its smooth oiled surface is completely matt, so the wood looks natural and unfinished rather than coated.
It suits modern Scandinavian and Japandi interiors, bright living rooms and bedrooms, and kitchens with sensible care. Try it with warm white or chalky plaster walls, pale linen, light oak furniture, ceramics and black accents. It also helps a smaller or darker room feel lighter.
With slim 80 x 300mm planks, the herringbone is close and detailed. In such a soft colour, it gives a gentle texture that works in period homes and new builds alike.
The 3mm oak top layer is real wood, so it can be sanded and re-oiled. Select grade keeps the look clean, with fewer and smaller knots.

Frequently asked questions about Handbridge Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Handbridge Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 0.96 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 0.96 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 18 packs.
Is Handbridge Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Handbridge Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
