Underfloor heating

Suitable for water or electric systems, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Lacquered finish

Easy to look after day to day.

Fewer, smaller knots for a cleaner look.

About Dodleston Oak Herringbone

Fresh and natural, Dodleston looks like clean, newly planed oak. The colour is a light biscuit with a gentle warm undertone, and the grain is clear and varied: some planks show soft cathedral arches, others straight lines with fine ray flecks. Knots are few and small. A brushed texture adds a little tactility, while the lacquer keeps the surface bright with a low sheen.

Because it is so neutral, it fits almost anywhere: family living rooms, bedrooms, landings and hallways, and kitchen-diners with sensible care. It looks right with white or light grey walls, Scandinavian furniture, plants and woven textures, and it will carry bolder colour on walls or in soft furnishings without clashing.

With 90 x 400mm planks the herringbone has a balanced scale. The longer length lets the pattern run cleanly across larger rooms, while the 90mm width keeps a traditional parquet feel.

Its 4mm real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished many years from now. The Select grade means a cleaner look with fewer, smaller knots.

Frequently asked questions about Dodleston Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Dodleston Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 1.872 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.872 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.

Is Dodleston Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Dodleston Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
