About Curzon Oak Herringbone

Curzon is a warm, honeyed oak with real depth. Each plank shows bold cathedral arches and flame-like figure, and the colour moves from pale honey through to toffee, with the odd smoky streak and a few small dark knots to keep it from looking too polished. The brushed surface lifts the grain so you can feel it underfoot, and the lacquer gives a soft satin glow rather than a shine.

This is a floor for classic living and dining rooms, studies and hallways in older houses as well as new builds. It sits comfortably with cream or warm white walls, deep green or navy paintwork, leather, brass and dark joinery. In a kitchen it works with sensible care, and looks good against shaker cabinets in sage or ink blue.

The 90 x 400mm planks give a medium herringbone: long enough for the zigzag to flow across a room, short enough to keep that traditional parquet character.

Underneath sits a 4mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so the surface can be sanded and refinished over the years. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Curzon Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Curzon Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 1.872 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.872 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.

Is Curzon Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Curzon Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
