About Burwardsley Oak Herringbone
Burwardsley is a golden honey oak with lively grain. Bold flame and cathedral figure swirl across many planks, while others are straighter and quieter, so the floor has a lot of natural movement. A few tiny pin knots appear here and there. The lacquered surface is smooth with a soft sheen, and the overall feel is bright, warm and classic.
It brings life to light living rooms with grey sofas, oak coffee tables, cream cushions and big windows. In dining rooms and bedrooms it feels welcoming, and it can run into a kitchen with sensible care.
The 80 x 300mm planks make a small, traditional herringbone with a close, busy pattern. It is well suited to period homes, hallways and smaller rooms, and the lively grain adds interest on top of the pattern.
Its 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base can be sanded and refinished, and the lacquer makes day-to-day cleaning easy. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Burwardsley Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Burwardsley Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 0.96 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 0.96 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 18 packs.
Is Burwardsley Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Burwardsley Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
