About Askrigg Birch Herringbone
Cool and silvery, Askrigg Birch Herringbone has a pale grey base with white streaks running along its fine, straight grain. There are very few knots, and the pieces vary only slightly, from soft dove grey to almost white. Together they form a light, airy floor with a gentle linear texture and a matt finish. The effect is fresh and Nordic.
It looks good with white and light grey kitchens, chrome or brushed steel, crisp linen and pale furniture. It is fully waterproof, so it can be laid in bathrooms and en suites as well as bedrooms and living rooms.
Narrow 115 x 460mm planks create a detailed, traditional herringbone, the kind that suits period properties and smaller rooms. The same colour also comes in plank, so a bedroom in planks and a living room in herringbone can share one shade.
This is a glue-down floor, fixed to a smooth, prepared subfloor. The 0.3mm wear layer suits bedrooms, living and dining rooms with lighter foot traffic, and underfloor heating up to 27°C is fine.
