About Norton Oak Herringbone

A pale, soft greige oak with a cool, almost mushroom undertone. The grain is gentle and fine, with long straight lines, faint arches and very few knots. Planks are closely matched, with only light shifts between beige and grey, so the herringbone has a quiet, even texture. The matt finish looks smooth and natural, giving a calm, minimal and very modern feel.

Norton suits Scandinavian and Japandi schemes, and works in bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. It sits well with white, oatmeal or stone walls, pale oak, boucle, linen and black accents.

In 128 x 615mm planks, the herringbone adds subtle pattern to a room while the soft colour keeps it light. It suits period homes and modern open-plan spaces equally. The same colour also comes as a plank for adjoining rooms.

It is 100% waterproof, with a rigid stone-composite core that clicks together and floats over the subfloor with the underlay attached. A 0.5mm wear layer suits everyday family life in most rooms.

Frequently asked questions about Norton Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Norton Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 2.36 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.36 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.

Is Norton Oak Herringbone waterproof?

Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.

Can Norton Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Can I fit it myself?

It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

What is SPC flooring?

SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
