About Daylesford Oak Herringbone

Warm, sandy and natural, this is a true mid-tone oak, neither pale nor dark. Clear cathedral grain sweeps across many of the planks, and a scattering of small dark knots adds quiet character. Some planks are a shade lighter or more golden than others, which gives the herringbone a pleasing, natural rhythm. The matt finish looks like freshly oiled oak, warm and welcoming rather than polished.

It brings warmth to family kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms, and suits both country and modern schemes. Try it with cream or sage units, white walls, terracotta, rattan and soft grey upholstery.

In 128 x 615mm planks, the herringbone has a classic, well-proportioned look that works in period terraces as well as new builds. The same colour also comes as a plank, for rooms where you want a calmer, linear floor.

It is 100% waterproof and floats over the subfloor on its built-in underlay, so bathrooms and utility rooms are fine too. A 0.5mm wear layer is well suited to everyday family life.

Frequently asked questions about Daylesford Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Daylesford Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 2.36 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.36 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.

Is Daylesford Oak Herringbone waterproof?

Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.

Can Daylesford Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Can I fit it myself?

It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

What is SPC flooring?

SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
