About Cray Ash Herringbone
Weathered and silvery, Cray Ash has the look of timber that has spent years outdoors. The grey is cool and soft, with lighter streaks and darker grain lines running through it. Small knots, fine cracks and open, wavy figure give each plank its own character, and the variation is noticeable without being patchy. The matt surface adds to the driftwood feel, making the floor relaxed, coastal and quietly rustic.
It is a natural choice for seaside-style living rooms, family kitchens and bathrooms. Pair it with white or stone-coloured walls, crisp white sanitaryware, soft blues, chunky knits and warm wood furniture to stop the grey feeling cold.
At 118 x 590mm, the planks give a compact herringbone with a traditional, close pattern that suits cottages, terraces and smaller rooms. The same colour also comes as a plank, GF Glue Down 0.55 herringbone and GF Glue Down 0.55 plank, which makes it easy to run one look through several spaces.
It is 100% waterproof, with a rigid core and underlay already attached, so it clicks together and floats over the subfloor. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Cray Ash Herringbone
How many packs of Cray Ash Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 2.23 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.23 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Cray Ash Herringbone waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Cray Ash Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
