About Tatton Oak
Warm golden honey with a hint of orange, Tatton Oak has a classic, sunny tone. The grain is bold and graphic, with strong flame patterns and cathedral arches outlined in darker lines, so every board has its own figure. Knots are small and few, giving a cleaner look than many rustic floors, and the colour stays fairly even across the planks. A smooth lacquered finish adds a gentle sheen that brings out the depth of the grain.
It suits traditional homes, family living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and kitchens with sensible care. Cream and white walls, navy or forest green paint, brass, rattan and grey or blue upholstery all set off its golden warmth.
Mixed lengths in 125 x 300–1200mm planks create a lively, staggered pattern of short joints, the look of a traditional strip floor. It works well in period homes, hallways and smaller rooms.
Its 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base means it can be sanded and refinished later. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Tatton Oak
How many packs of Tatton Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 1.8 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 1.8 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.
Is Tatton Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Tatton Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
