About Queens Oak

Chalky white and soft cream, Queens Oak has a limed, Nordic look. The pale tone settles into the brushed grain, so the oak’s arches and swirls show as fine white lines across the surface. Knots are small and softened by the colour, appearing as faint grey marks rather than dark spots, and the planks vary only slightly in tone. The oiled finish is matt, adding to the airy, bleached feel.

This is a floor for bright, minimal rooms: Scandinavian living spaces, calm bedrooms, airy hallways and white or pale grey kitchens with sensible care. It pairs well with light oak and ash furniture, white walls, linen, pale grey sofas and lots of greenery, and it brightens rooms that get little natural light.

The 150 x 1900mm planks are long and slightly slimmer than a wide board, giving clean, linear lines that work in rooms of most sizes.

A 3mm real oak top layer sits on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished later. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Queens Oak

How many packs of Queens Oak do I need?

Each pack covers 2.28 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.28 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.

Is Queens Oak waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Queens Oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
