About Eccleston Oak
Weathered and full of texture in look, Eccleston Oak is pale straw and cream with long, dark-edged splits running along the grain. These fissures, along with scattered knots and patches of fine silvery ray fleck, give the boards a reclaimed, sawn-timber character. Colour stays light and even overall, with gentle shifts towards warm biscuit on some planks. The oiled finish is matt and natural, and the surface is smooth to the touch despite its rugged appearance.
It is ideal for barn conversions, cottages and modern rustic schemes, but also adds warmth to a crisp white contemporary room. Try it in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens with sensible care. It pairs well with limewashed walls, linen, wicker, black ironwork and chunky wooden tables.
The 190 x 1900mm planks are wide and long, which suits the strong character: fewer joins mean the splits and knots read as part of a calm, open floor.
Under the oil is a 3mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished later, and it suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Eccleston Oak
How many packs of Eccleston Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.166 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.166 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Eccleston Oak waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Eccleston Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
