Features and benefits

6mm real oak top layer

Every board has its own grain, and the floor can be sanded and refinished. The thicker top layer means this can be done more times.

Stable multi-layer base

Moves far less than solid wood with changes in temperature and humidity.

Underfloor heating

Suitable for water or electric systems, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Oiled finish

A natural look and feel, and it can be spot-repaired. Re-oil from time to time.

Rustic grade

More knots and colour variation for a characterful floor.

Glue down or nailed

We recommend a professional fitter.

25-year residential guarantee

When fitted by a competent professional following the GF installation guide.

About Burland Oak

Warm honey tones run right through Burland Oak, with a lively grain that swirls into cathedral arches and flame patterns along each board. Some planks show the fine silvery flecks of quarter-cut oak, others carry a small dark knot or two, so the floor has plenty of movement without looking busy. A brushed surface lifts the grain so you can feel it underfoot, and the oiled finish keeps everything soft and matt, more like natural timber than a coated floor. The overall feel is relaxed and quietly rustic.

It sits happily in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and works in a kitchen with sensible care. Pair it with soft grey or oatmeal upholstery, chunky reclaimed-wood furniture, white walls and plenty of green plants. Linen, wool and stoneware all suit its warmth.

At 190 x 1900mm, the planks are wide and long, so there are fewer joins across the room and the space feels calmer and larger.

Underneath the oiled surface is a generous 6mm oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished when it needs a refresh. It also suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Burland Oak

How many packs of Burland Oak do I need?

Each pack covers 1.805 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 1.805 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.

Is Burland Oak waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Burland Oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
