About Pickmere Oak Herringbone
Weathered grey with a driftwood feel, Pickmere is an oak that has been toned down to ash and taupe. Some planks are a cool silver-grey, others a warmer greige, and that mix gives the floor a natural, beach-house look. The grain is clear, with cathedral figure and straight lines, and the Rustic grade adds small knots and the odd character mark. The lacquer leaves a soft, low sheen.
It suits kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways. In a kitchen it works with sensible care, and pairs well with white, grey or navy cabinets. Elsewhere, try it with crisp white or pale blue walls, slate and charcoal textiles, chrome or black metal, and natural linen.
With 90 x 350mm planks, the herringbone is fairly compact and detailed. The cool tone softens the pattern, so it adds interest without feeling heavy.
The 3mm real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished in future. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Pickmere Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Pickmere Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 3.02 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 3.02 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 6 packs.
Is Pickmere Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Pickmere Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
