About Peover Oak Herringbone
Peover is a classic golden oak, warm and sunny without tipping into orange. The grain is lively, with cathedral arches on some planks and straight lines on others, and a few small dark knots for character. Tones range from light honey to a deeper sandy gold, which gives the floor depth. The brushed surface adds texture, and the lacquer gives a soft satin finish.
It brings warmth to living rooms, dining rooms, family hallways and studies, and works in kitchens with sensible care. Cream, warm white and soft green walls suit it, as do grey or ochre upholstery, mid-century timber pieces and brass lighting.
The 90 x 400mm planks give a medium herringbone that flows well across open-plan spaces while keeping the traditional feel of parquet.
It has a 4mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished over time. It suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Peover Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Peover Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 1.872 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.872 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 10 packs.
Is Peover Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Peover Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
