About Delamere Oak Herringbone

Rich and golden, Delamere has the deep amber warmth of oak that has been oiled and allowed to mellow. Silvery ray flecks and open grain show across many of the planks, giving the surface a lively, almost shimmering texture where the light catches it. Tone is fairly consistent, with a few planks running slightly darker and the occasional small pin knot. The brushed, oiled finish is matt and natural rather than glossy.

It brings warmth to north-facing living rooms, snugs, dining rooms and hallways. Try it with cream or soft white walls, terracotta and rust textiles, rattan, and dark green or charcoal accents. It also suits a kitchen with sensible care, especially next to painted cabinets in deep green or off-white.

At 80 x 300mm, these are slim, short planks that create a tight, detailed herringbone. That classic small-scale pattern belongs in Victorian and Edwardian homes and makes a modest room feel crafted.

The 3mm oak top layer can be sanded and re-oiled when needed, and the floor suits underfloor heating up to a surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Delamere Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Delamere Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 0.96 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 0.96 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 18 packs.

Is Delamere Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Delamere Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
