About Broxton Oak Herringbone
Broxton is a fresh natural oak with a warm pink-gold tone. The grain is clear and smooth, with soft cathedral figure in some planks and straight lines in others, and only the odd small knot. Colour varies gently from pale honey to a slightly deeper amber, so the floor has life without looking busy. The oil finish keeps it matt and close to bare timber.
It brings warmth to bright living rooms with grey sofas, oak furniture, ceramics and white walls. It is equally good in dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and in kitchens with sensible care.
The 80 x 350mm planks create a slim, elegant herringbone. The longer, narrower pieces give the pattern a fine, detailed rhythm that suits period homes and contemporary rooms alike.
This is a substantial floor, 20mm thick with a generous 6mm real oak top layer on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished when the time comes. It is Select grade and suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Broxton Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Broxton Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 1.12 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.12 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 16 packs.
Is Broxton Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Broxton Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
