About Beeston Oak Herringbone
Beeston is a warm golden honey oak with a clean, fresh look. Brushing has opened the grain, and pale streaks within it give a light, limed sparkle across the surface. Knots are very few, as expected from Select grade, and the planks stay close in tone, with only a gentle shift from golden to slightly paler. The lacquer gives a soft, even sheen that is easy to keep clean.
It brings warmth to bright living rooms with grey sofas, oak or walnut coffee tables, ceramics and plenty of plants. In dining rooms and bedrooms it feels classic and welcoming, and kitchens are fine with sensible care.
The small 80 x 300mm planks create a fine, busy herringbone. This is the traditional parquet scale, well suited to period homes, hallways and rooms where you want the floor to have detail and rhythm.
Its 3mm real oak top layer sits on a stable multi-layer base and can be sanded and refinished. It suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Beeston Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Beeston Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 0.96 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 0.96 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 18 packs.
Is Beeston Oak Herringbone waterproof?
No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.
Can Beeston Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can it be sanded?
Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
