About Barbridge Oak Herringbone

Barbridge has a pale, whitewashed greige tone with a soft, sandy warmth beneath. Brushing has lifted the grain so it shows as a fine texture you can see and feel, and small pin knots appear here and there. Planks vary gently from light oatmeal to a slightly deeper beige, adding interest without breaking up the calm. The oiled finish keeps the look matt and natural.

It suits Scandinavian and modern country rooms: grey or oatmeal sofas, light oak furniture, terracotta pots, white walls and big windows. In bedrooms it feels soft and restful, and kitchens are fine with sensible care.

At 90 x 300mm the planks are compact, so the herringbone is close and detailed. It brings a traditional parquet rhythm to period homes, hallways and smaller rooms, while the pale colour stops it looking heavy.

The 3mm oak top layer is real timber on a stable multi-layer base, so it can be sanded and refinished later. Select grade keeps knots fewer and smaller, and it suits underfloor heating up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Barbridge Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Barbridge Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 1.512 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 1.512 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 12 packs.

Is Barbridge Oak Herringbone waterproof?

No. It is real wood, so it is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Wipe up spills promptly. It works well in kitchens with sensible care, but for bathrooms and utility rooms choose GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC.

Can Barbridge Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

It can be fitted by gluing down or nailing, with a 10–12mm expansion gap at the walls. Herringbone is laid from the centre of the room and is glued or nailed, never floated. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can it be sanded?

Yes. The real oak top layer can be sanded and refinished. The thicker the top layer, the more times that can be done, so a 4mm or 6mm top layer gives you more life than 3mm.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
