About Cotter Oak Herringbone
A cool, mid-grey oak effect with a smart, tailored look. The grain is fine and tightly packed, running in long straight lines with a few soft arches, and the surface has a subtle brushed texture. Some planks lean a touch darker or slightly warmer, which gives gentle movement across the pattern without any bold knots or cracks. The finish is matt and understated, with a contemporary, urban feel.
Cotter works well in modern kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms, especially with white, charcoal or navy units, chrome or black fittings, concrete-effect worktops and crisp white walls. It also suits a hallway where you want something practical and calm.
The 118 x 590mm planks make a compact herringbone with a classic, busy rhythm, ideal for smaller rooms and period properties. The same colour is also available as a plank, as GF Glue Down 0.55 herringbone and as GF Glue Down 0.55 plank, so you can match the look across a whole floor.
It is 100% waterproof and clicks together over its built-in underlay. A 0.55mm wear layer makes it the all-round choice for busy family homes.

Frequently asked questions about Cotter Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Cotter Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 2.23 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.23 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Cotter Oak Herringbone waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Cotter Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
