About Cotter Oak
A deeper, cooler grey than most, Cotter has a steel-grey tone with a fine, brushed texture. The grain is tight and linear with a few soft arches and the odd small knot, giving a crisp, tailored surface. There is gentle variation between planks, with some slightly lighter or warmer, but the overall look stays smart and consistent. The matt finish keeps it understated and contemporary.
It is a strong choice for modern kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces, and looks sharp with white, charcoal or navy units, concrete or marble-effect worktops, chrome and black fittings. A jute rug or oak furniture adds warmth.
The 183 x 1220mm planks are long and clean-lined, so rooms look larger and calmer. The same colour also comes in herringbone, as GF Glue Down 0.55 herringbone and as GF Glue Down 0.55 plank, giving you options for every room.
It is 100% waterproof with a rigid stone-composite core that clicks together over its attached underlay. The 0.55mm wear layer is the all-round choice for busy family homes.

Frequently asked questions about Cotter Oak
How many packs of Cotter Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.2 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.2 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Cotter Oak waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Cotter Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
