Questions

Flooring by room, answered

What is the best flooring for a kitchen?

A waterproof floor that can take heavy foot traffic. From GF, choose GF Glue Down 0.55, GF Glue Down 0.7 or GF Click SPC, which are all 100% waterproof.

What is the best flooring for a bathroom?

A 100% waterproof floor. From GF, that means GF Glue Down LVT or GF Click SPC. GF Engineered Wood is not suitable for bathrooms.

What is the best flooring for a hallway?

A hard-wearing floor with a thick wear layer, because the hallway is the busiest route through the house. From GF, choose GF Glue Down 0.55 or GF Glue Down 0.7.

What is the best flooring for underfloor heating?

Vinyl and engineered wood both work well over underfloor heating, as long as the floor surface stays at or below 27°C. Every GF range is suitable: GF Glue Down LVT with warm-water or electric systems (but not systems installed before 1990), GF Click SPC and GF Engineered Wood.
