About Oughtershaw Oak
Silvered grey with a weathered surface, Oughtershaw Oak has plenty of character. Bold cathedral grain sweeps across each plank, picked out in pale limed streaks, and dark knots sit here and there. The colour moves between pewter and soft dove grey, with a little warmth showing through. It has a matt, textured look, like oak left out to weather and then brought inside.
It suits modern farmhouse and industrial-leaning interiors: white or grey kitchens, black taps, concrete, brick and natural wool. As it is fully waterproof, it works well in bathrooms and utility rooms too.
The 183 x 1220mm planks are long, giving the strong grain room to breathe. The same colour also comes in herringbone, GF Glue Down 0.55 herringbone and GF Glue Down 0.55 plank, so you can lay a pattern in a hallway and keep planks in the kitchen.
Planks click together over a rigid stone-composite core, with the underlay already attached. Underfloor heating up to 27°C is fine.

Frequently asked questions about Oughtershaw Oak
How many packs of Oughtershaw Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.2 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.2 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Oughtershaw Oak waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Oughtershaw Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
