About Hook Oak

Hook brings a light, cool grey oak look with a soft, misty quality. The grain is gentle and flowing, with fine lines, the odd small knot and a few soft cathedral arches. There is little contrast between planks, so the surface reads as one calm, even tone. The matt finish has a faintly brushed appearance, and the overall feel is modern, clean and restful.

It works well in contemporary living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms, especially with white, dove grey or charcoal units, chrome or brushed steel fittings, and blue, white or blush accents. Warm wood furniture adds a welcome contrast.

Laid in 128 x 615mm herringbone, it adds pattern and a sense of craft, while the quiet grey stops it feeling busy. That makes it a good fit for period homes and modern open-plan spaces alike.

It is 100% waterproof. The rigid stone-composite core clicks together and floats over the subfloor on its attached underlay, and a 0.5mm wear layer suits everyday family life in most rooms.

Frequently asked questions about Hook Oak

How many packs of Hook Oak do I need?

Each pack covers 2.05 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.05 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 9 packs.

Is Hook Oak waterproof?

Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.

Can Hook Oak go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

Can I fit it myself?

It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

What is SPC flooring?

SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
