About Speyside Oak Herringbone

Of the herringbone colours, Speyside Oak is the richest. It has a deep caramel and amber tone with a golden glow, and the grain is bold: wide cathedral arches, swirling figure and the occasional small knot. Planks shift slightly in depth of colour, giving a warm, layered surface. A soft satin sheen lifts the grain when the light comes in low, and the overall feel is classic and inviting.

It adds cosiness to large open-plan rooms and bright extensions, where a paler floor might feel flat. Pair it with cream or warm white walls, oatmeal sofas, jute rugs, rattan, and dark green or navy accents. It also suits traditional interiors with panelled walls and antique pieces.

Laid in 126 x 630mm planks, the herringbone is tight and traditional, with a busy, characterful pattern that reads well in living rooms, studies and the hallways of period homes.

Speyside is a 100% waterproof rigid click floor from Associated Weavers with a 1mm acoustic underlay attached. A 0.3mm wear layer makes it best for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms with lighter foot traffic, and it suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Speyside Oak Herringbone

How many packs of Speyside Oak Herringbone do I need?

Each pack covers 2.22 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.22 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.

Is Speyside Oak Herringbone waterproof?

Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.

Can Speyside Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?

Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.

How is it fitted?

The planks click together and float over a flat, clean, dry subfloor, with a 1mm acoustic underlay already attached, so you never add a second underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Glue-down or click: which should I choose?

The GF by AW glue-down has the thicker 0.55mm wear layer, so it is the harder-wearing choice for busy rooms. The Click SPC is quicker to fit, with the underlay built in.

What guarantee does it have?

It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.

Can I order a free sample?

Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
