About Cairngorm Oak
Pale silver-grey with a soft beige undertone, Cairngorm Oak has the look of weathered, washed timber. Fine straight grain runs the length of each plank, with occasional soft streaks and very few knots. Some planks lean lighter and cooler, others a touch warmer, giving a gentle shimmer across the floor. A flat matt finish keeps the effect soft, and the mood is cool, calm and contemporary.
It suits modern living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, and works well with white or pale grey walls, charcoal or grey sofas, chrome or black fittings, and light oak or walnut furniture for contrast. Coastal and minimalist schemes suit it especially well.
The 178 x 1219mm planks are long and wide, so the floor reads as a broad, uninterrupted surface that helps a room feel larger.
It is 100% waterproof, made by Associated Weavers, and clicks together over a 1mm acoustic underlay that is already attached. The 0.3mm wear layer suits rooms with lighter foot traffic, and underfloor heating is fine up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Cairngorm Oak
How many packs of Cairngorm Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.2 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.2 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Cairngorm Oak waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Cairngorm Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
How is it fitted?
The planks click together and float over a flat, clean, dry subfloor, with a 1mm acoustic underlay already attached, so you never add a second underlay. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Glue-down or click: which should I choose?
The GF by AW glue-down has the thicker 0.55mm wear layer, so it is the harder-wearing choice for busy rooms. The Click SPC is quicker to fit, with the underlay built in.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a 25-year residential guarantee. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
