About Stow Oak
Mixed and characterful, Stow Oak sets warm tan planks alongside greyer, saw-marked ones, so the floor has a reclaimed look. The grain ranges from soft cathedral figure to fine cross-cut texture, and colour shifts noticeably from plank to plank, from honeyed brown to smoky grey-brown. Knots are small and few. The finish looks matt, letting the variation do the work.
It is a strong choice for relaxed, lived-in spaces: open-plan kitchen diners, family rooms and cottages. Cream walls, dark green or navy cabinetry, leather and worn timber furniture all sit well on it. Fully waterproof, it can also go into the kitchen and bathroom.
The 180 x 1220mm planks are long and wide, which gives the mix of tones space and keeps the room feeling open rather than busy.
The planks click together over a rigid stone-composite core and float with underlay attached. A 0.5mm wear layer copes with everyday family life in most rooms, and it suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Stow Oak
How many packs of Stow Oak do I need?
Each pack covers 2.2 m². Measure the floor area, add 10% for cutting, then divide by 2.2 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 8 packs.
Is Stow Oak waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Stow Oak go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
