About Burford Oak Herringbone
Smoky, deep and full of character, Burford brings a dark oak look with real presence. Tones move between charcoal brown, cocoa and weathered grey-taupe, and some planks carry lighter, sun-bleached streaks. Saw marks, fine cracks and open grain run along the length, giving a reclaimed, well-worn feel. The variation from plank to plank is strong, so the herringbone shows clearly, while the matt surface keeps it from looking glossy.
This is a floor for rooms that want warmth and a little drama: snugs, dining rooms, studies and kitchens with dark or deep green units. It pairs well with exposed brick, leather, aged brass and warm white or putty walls. In a bathroom it gives a cosy, cabin-like feel.
The 128 x 615mm planks create a traditional herringbone that suits Victorian and Edwardian homes as well as modern industrial spaces. The same colour also comes as a plank for adjoining rooms.
Fully waterproof with a rigid stone-composite core, it clicks together and floats on its attached underlay, and suits underfloor heating up to 27°C.

Frequently asked questions about Burford Oak Herringbone
How many packs of Burford Oak Herringbone do I need?
Each pack covers 2.05 m². Measure the floor area, add 15% for cutting, as patterned floors need more cuts than plank, then divide by 2.05 and round up. For a 15 m² room that is 9 packs.
Is Burford Oak Herringbone waterproof?
Yes. It is a 100% waterproof vinyl floor, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways.
Can Burford Oak Herringbone go over underfloor heating?
Yes. It is suitable for underfloor heating, water or electric, up to a floor surface temperature of 27°C.
Can I fit it myself?
It is the quickest GF floor to fit: the planks click together and float over the subfloor, and the underlay is already attached. The subfloor still needs to be flat, clean and dry, with a 6–8mm expansion gap at every wall. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC stands for stone plastic composite. It is a rigid core made mostly from limestone powder, with a printed design and a clear wear layer on top. It is harder and more stable than flexible vinyl, and it is 100% waterproof.
What guarantee does it have?
It has a lifetime residential guarantee, which means 35 years from the date of purchase. To keep the GF guarantee, follow the GF installation guide and use a competent professional fitter.
Can I order a free sample?
Yes. You can order up to five free samples, and we aim to send them within 3 to 5 days, so you can see the colour in your own light before you buy.
